Hayley first approached Clockhouse with the concept of mindfulness training for children over 3 years ago. The fact that she has worked so hard to transfer her vision into reality goes to show how passionate she is about what she does and this is certainly mirrored to the work she does with the children.
Hayley comes into school twice a week and works with children from Year 1 to Year 6 She is committed and can be relied upon so that the children do not miss out on their weekly intervention. She has built excellent relationships with the children whom she works and they actively look forward to attending the sessions with her. Feedback from staff and parents is positive with there being marked improvement in terms of individual children, with some growing in confidence whilst others have been given a chance to learn more about themselves. There has been notable improvements for some in terms of their ability to control their emotions outside of the sessions and how to deal with difficult situations that may arise.
I would certainly recommend the work that Hayley is doing at Clockhouse, to support and enhance children' s social and emotional wellbeing.
Hayley has developed a wonderful relationship with children, staff and parents. Mindfulness sessions have been enjoyed by all and there have been many positive comments. She has created a calm and safe environment in which all have been able to relax and benefit from the techniques she has used. I would highly recommend Hayley to anyone thinking of starting mindfulness sessions in their schools.
I met Hayley 3 years ago to our school to share her skill using mindfulness. I was blown away by our children's reaction to her and what she showed them. I had to leave the room as I had a lump in my throat, chocked with my own emotion seeing children I have known for a long time instantly open up for her. They relaxed in her presence, trusting her calm approach and opening up to see who they really are. A moment I will always treasure. Its hard to gain a child's trust, whats even harder is a child allowing them self to be open especially some of the children Hayley works with. Keeping closed is a natural trait for some of our children, but Hayley manages to do this every time. I have watched as a child has held a globe watching the glitter settle knowing that's what happens inside their head most days, or that anxiety feeling that swirls around inside their tummy, and its ok to feel that way as now they knew someone understood. Her calm awareness of every child in the room makes every child believe shes there for only them. If I had to think of one word to say to Hayley, it would be THANKYOU. Thank you for seeing and feeling every child for who they really are and helping them see and feel that too.
My daughter has been attending weekly sessions with Hayley for 5 months. I found Happy Little Minds website after searching for mindfulness classes for young people. There is a lack of these services, and although my daughter was supported by mental health teams, the support was not effective. My daughter and myself were disillusioned by the whole process. After a couple of weeks of sessions with Hayley, my daughter was using mindfulness to support with her anxiety and situations where she felt uncomfortable. After a couple of months my daughter is much more resilient and can manage her anxiety and fears well. Without Hayley I am not sure what would have happened to us. I was trying everything I could to help my little girl who I could see crumbling before my eyes. It is heartbreaking as a parent to be powerless. Although the sessions are for my daughter, it has made a huge impact on my well-being and my relationship with my daughter. If I had to sum all this up, I would say Hayley has brought a gift to us. We practice mindfulness and enjoy our sessions. It also helps that Hayley is such a kind and thoughtful person who makes you feel at ease. Thank you Hayley for everything.
Spends time with my daughter and goes above and beyond to her her. So grateful to have met this wonderful lady.
Hayley has helped me so much and I am so glad I came to her class at school. It has made me feel more relaxed. It does a lot to my brain to stop me worrying about everything around me. Hayley is a good mediation person, she really helps me.
